Maoists strike as India votes in epic elections

Suspected Maoists have ambushed Indian border guards in the country's east, killing five of them, as the nation votes in the first round of general elections to choose a new federal government, officials say. The elections, a mammoth exercise in which 714 million people are registered to vote, run until next month in scattered polling.
